About

I've spent the last 13+ years making things work — building structures, processes and teams that turn strategy into something real. At Vumacam I've owned IT delivery, budgets, team performance and roadmap execution — not as separate workstreams handed to me, but as a single operational picture, I'm accountable for end to end. Before that I ran Vumacam's PMO with a team of 12 people, and further down the line, worked at NTT (previously Dimension Data) across global teams with a US$4M budget, running the Microsoft Partner marketing relationship. I'm not someone who needs a finished system to function. I'd rather run with something at 80% perfection and fix it in motion than plan it to death. I use AI to cut out repetitive stuff and to move faster. It has been said with enthusiasm, that if you're not embracing AI, then you're being left behind. I do believe this, while being cautious to ensure that we're not generating slop. I'm at my best when the scope is broad, the pace is high, and there's something worth building. Core Competencies Operating Model Design · End-to-End Delivery Ownership · AI-First Operations · SaaS & Cloud Cost Governance (Azure) · People & Team Scaling · Financial Planning & Forecasting · Cross-Functional Programme Management · Agile Delivery · Stakeholder & Executive Alignment · Process Automation · KPI Frameworks & Performance Management · Budget Ownership

What I'm looking for

I'm looking for a senior operational leadership role — Head of Operations, Head of PMO, Programme Director, or COO-level — in a company that's past its early chaotic growth stage and now needs someone to professionalise how it runs. I do my best work when there's ambiguity and no clear process yet: my track record is walking into that gap, building the governance, KPI frameworks, and delivery structure from scratch, and then holding teams accountable to it.

Head of IT Enablement

Vumacam

Apr 2022 – Present

Vumacam is South Africa's first and only video management-as-a-service provider (a SaaS platform), operating at scale across a Tier-3 datacentre infrastructure. Own the overarching programme management layer across IT Ops and Dev — tracking delivery across workstreams, surfacing blockers early, and keeping the roadmap honest against shifting priorities. Act as the internal consultative partner for process improvement across IT Ops and Dev — understanding how teams actually work before recommending change, rather than leading with a tool. Built and maintain project management processes from the ground up — including standardised workflows (AI workflows included) for business requests, BRS management, approvals, scheduling, and progress reporting, where no consistent process existed before. Designed and built an AI agent scoped to a real business need — surfacing relevant industry workshops and conferences, matching them to team interests, and producing the cost/subsidy case automatically. Replaced ad hoc, easily-missed manual searching with a standing pipeline. Semi-automated a monthly financial control for the CFO — reconciling feature-level data across timesheets, ClickUp, and DevOps into the capitalisation/WIP breakdown, turning a slow manual process into a fast, repeatable one. Introduced capitalisation and amortisation discipline for SaaS feature development where none existed — took the developer WIP cost breakdown from R36M to R1.38M within just over one financial year. Drive financial visibility across the IT budget — own rolling forecast tracking, Azure cloud cost monitoring, and monthly expenditure reporting, giving leadership a clear picture of spend vs plan. Run monthly cloud cost governance (Azure Advisor) with the Head of IT Ops across 6 subscriptions — tracking and reducing unnecessary spend as an ongoing discipline, not a one-off exercise. Mapped and streamlined the applications landscape — retired a fully manual tool (Miro) and rebuilt the same dashboards natively in our PM platform (ClickUp), owning onboarding, training, and adoption across two departments. Gave EXCO a single, real-time pane of view across every active project. Co-own hiring alongside business unit leaders — conduct initial interviews to assess fit and flag any concerns before progressing candidates, ensuring the bar stays consistent across the team. Designed and implemented KPI frameworks for IT Ops from scratch, then run the ongoing tracking and reporting cadence — shifting the team from reactive to accountable through regular check-ins, structured feedback, and clear performance visibility for leadership. Coordinate resourcing and capacity across IT Ops and Dev, proactively flagging gaps and working with leadership to prioritise effectively. Built enablement materials and programmes that outlast the initial rollout — including a mentorship track and a hackathon series that builds practical skills team by team, without ongoing hand-holding. Partnered with our CISO to roll out a company-wide cybersecurity training platform, establishing quarterly training cadences across the entire company.

Drove adoption of a Shared Services Model across global marketing divisions, consolidating the technology stack and reducing operational duplication across country teams. Led the Marketing Summit 2021 — NTT's largest internal virtual event to date — coordinating stakeholders, content, and execution across international teams and speakers from scratch. Built and maintained process maps and reporting frameworks that gave global leadership visibility into programme progress across country teams operating as independent entities.
