About
I'm a software engineer with a year of production experience behind me and an M.Tech in Computer Science from IIIT Bangalore in progress. I work mostly on backend and systems problems - the kind where correctness under concurrency, failure handling, and clear boundaries matter more than shipping another CRUD endpoint.
My first engineering job was at Alpha Payments LLP, working on Base24 Classic payment switch modules in TAL and COBOL on HP NonStop systems, handling ISO 8583 message flows. It's unglamorous, unusual work for someone at my stage, and it shaped how I think: in payments, a dropped or mis-sequenced message is real money, so you design for the failure path first and the happy path second. I carry that instinct into everything I build now.
Since then I've built across the stack. Spotitube, my main project, is a Java / Spring Boot service that transfers playlists between Spotify and YouTube Music — OAuth 2.0 flows against two providers, an asynchronous worker pipeline using PostgreSQL SELECT ... FOR UPDATE SKIP LOCKED for job claiming, Redis pub/sub for live progress streaming, a multi-stage Docker build, and a GitHub Actions pipeline, with roughly 780 tests across backend and frontend. FraudGuard took me the other direction - a seven-stage Jenkins CI/CD pipeline deploying an ML fraud-detection model to Kubernetes with HashiCorp Vault for secrets, horizontal pod autoscaling, and an ELK stack for observability and a BitTorrent-style peer-to-peer file sharing system in C++ kept me honest at the low level: 512 KB chunking, SHA-1 piece verification via OpenSSL, and a custom piece-selection strategy.
I'm comfortable owning a problem end to end, I write tests because I've watched what happens when nobody does, and I like working with people who will tell me directly when I'm wrong. I'm looking for a remote team where I can go deep on backend systems and grow fast.
What I'm looking for
Remote backend engineering role - full-time or internship. I want to own
services end to end: APIs, async job pipelines, and how they behave under
concurrency and failure. My first job was Base24 payment switch work
(ISO 8583, HP NonStop), so fintech and infrastructure interest me most.
Java/Spring Boot and C++, with Docker/Kubernetes/CI. Bangalore (IST),
comfortable overlapping US or EU hours. 1 yr experience + M.Tech at IIIT
Bangalore in progress.

Software Engineer
Jul 2023 – May 2024
• Built and maintained Base24 Classic switch modules in TAL and COBOL on fault-tolerant HP NonStop Tandem systems.
• Implemented and supported ISO 8583 message parsing and field-level mappings for POS, ECOM, EMV, and H2H transactions.
• Root-caused critical SIT and Production incidents by tracing XPNET switch logs to isolate failing message paths.
• Monitored and tuned XPNET process configuration to improve switch throughput and reduce timeout-driven declines.
• Collaborated with QA, certification, and client teams to deliver payment solutions under strict production-change windows.
