About Modge

Modge is an all-in-one workforce analytics and management platform for distributed teams. It covers time tracking, productivity insights, scheduling, attendance, payroll, client billing, and reporting, all powered by one lightweight desktop agent for macOS and Windows.

What is Modge?

Many distributed teams track time in one tool, build schedules in another, and run leave, payroll, and client profitability in spreadsheets. Every handoff is a chance for hours to be re-entered, disputed, or lost.

Modge runs the entire chain on one dataset. The same tracked session that shows what someone worked on also scores their shift attendance, fills their timesheet, feeds payroll, and backs the client invoice. Modge also flags activity that would distort that record, such as mouse jigglers, and captures nothing outside work sessions.

Key features

  • Automatic time tracking: The desktop agent records each session's start and end times, project, and apps used, and offline work syncs when the connection returns.

  • Timesheets and payroll: Sessions roll into pay-period timesheets that managers approve in one click, with an immutable audit trail and payroll exports for Wise, PayPal, or generic files.

  • Scheduling and attendance: Managers build shifts across time zones, and Modge marks each one on time, late, or absent against configurable grace windows, with alerts for late arrivals and missed shifts.

  • Leave management: Custom policies track accruals, and approved paid leave lands in the right timesheet automatically.

  • Client billing and profitability: Bill and pay rates turn tracked time into revenue, cost, and margin by client, project, and person, with automated invoicing through Stripe.

  • Productivity insights: Live dashboards, color-coded activity timelines, role-specific app and website classification, and leaderboards show where time goes.

  • Integrity and burnout alerts: Modge flags idle streaks, frequent app switching, mouse jigglers, scripted input, and off-shift logins, plus long stretches without breaks or leave.

  • Screenshots and permissions: Screenshots are optional and can be blurred, with adjustable intervals, and role-based permissions limit each manager to the teams they oversee.

Who is it for?

Modge is built for operations leaders, founders, team managers, and finance and human resources teams who oversee distributed staff. Agencies and outsourcing providers use it to bill clients accurately and see margin by account. Remote and hybrid companies use it to keep schedules, attendance, and payroll in sync across time zones. Technology teams use it to protect focus time, and enterprises rely on its role-scoped visibility across departments. The common starting point: too many tools, too many spreadsheets, and no clear answer to where the hours went.
