About the Role
We’re looking for an OS 2200 Infrastructure Support Specialist to join our team, providing systems support for a major manufacturing client's data center. Their Unisys 2200 systems are mission-critical to their core manufacturing business.
This role offers an opportunity to work with time-tested enterprise systems and contribute to ongoing modernization efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Help a team of specialists provide on-call response and support for the client's Unisys 2200 systems environment.

- Use standard Unisys and the client’s custom logging utilities to monitor system “health.”
- Triage and assess incidents, distinguishing between hardware defects, systems software issues, including 3rd party product, and application anomalies. Perform root cause analysis on serious incidents.
- Follow and execute against customer-defined policies for incident escalation, change control, testing, and promotion into production.
- Respond to emergency alerts, restoring normal operations promptly.
- Perform monitoring of mainframe databases to ensure data integrity.
- Coordinate with other stakeholders: application programmers, support staff on other connected systems, Unisys, and 3rd party software providers.
- Prepare and submit trouble reports to Unisys and 3rd party vendors as appropriate.
- Implement approved corrections and coordinate with change control procedures for timely remedy installation.
- Provide periodic reports to management about system performance, any anomalies, and plans for risk mitigation and/or remediation.

We’re looking for someone with 3+ years of experience in OS 2200 systems support, ideally with prior experience as a system programmer. Greater length and depth of experience is welcome and highly desirable.
Must haves
- Overall understanding of the entire Unisys 2200 ecosystem, operating system, utilities, database, communications, transaction processing, 3rd party products, and applications development techniques
