Developed and deployed a production-ready RAG chatbot from scratch for the company’s intranet portal enabling semantic question answering over a 419-page EHS manual. Integrated hybrid retrieval pipeline Qdrant semantic search, BM25 keyword retrieval, and Cross-Encoder (MiniLM) reranking, making the accuracy of 94% for relevant answer retrieval. Data ingestion pipeline built using Fitz and Optimized document preprocessing by implementing regex-aware chunking to preserve numbered requirements and section hierarchy. Designed and implemented secure REST APIs with FastAPI, supporting chat, document ingestion, re-indexing, history, FAQs, and role-based administration for enterprise deployment. Deployed the complete application stack on Windows Server using Microsoft IIS, Application Request Routing (ARR), URL Rewrite, NSSM Windows Services, and Qdrant Binary, configuring reverse proxy, API routing, and production hosting for both frontend and backend. Integrated the chatbot with the organization’s ESG portal through an iframe-based architecture using JWT authentication, enabling secure communication between the enterprise portal and the AI backend.
