Hungarian work culture is professional, somewhat formal, and values expertise. Communication is direct. Budapest's tech scene is cosmopolitan and well-connected internationally. Remote work is increasingly common in the tech sector, though traditional industries are slower to adopt flexible arrangements.
Employment law provides standard protections. Hungary has a flat personal income tax rate of 15%, which is competitive by European standards. KATA (simplified tax for small businesses) has been reformed but alternative simplified regimes exist. International employers typically use EOR services.
